Human trafficking posters become law on January 1

PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla. - Posters warning people about human trafficking and telling victims how to get help will be going up at adult entertainment venues and massage parlors in Palm Beach County.

The new ordinance became law on January 1st.

"We thought slavery was gone a very long time ago in America. But unfortunately we have slaves here right now," Linda Geller-Shwartz with Partner Organizations Against Sex Trafficking said.

Geller-Schwartz helped get the new ordinance approved.

The poster she helped design in three languages will be displayed at the adult venues.

"It wasn't easy to get the law passed. And when we did it we were jubilant because we knew awareness was the most important thing," Geller-Schwartz said.
