GRAND RAPIDS, MICH. - An Ottawa County woman who bragged “the phone was ringing off the hook’’ in response to online ads she posted offering teen girls for sex was sentenced Tuesday to four years in federal prison.
Stephanie Ann Martin is one of several people arrested last fall as part of a FBI sting operation into sexual exploitation of children.
Martin, 24, pleaded guilty to conspiring to engage in sex trafficking of minors.
The investigation was launched when Grand Rapids police received a tip that the girls, ages 15 and 16, were involved in prostitution with a woman at a Grand Rapids hotel.
In addition to prison, U.S. District Judge Janet T. Neff placed Martin on two years of supervised release once she gets out of prison. She faced up to five years behind bars and a $250,000 fine.
