Ft. Smith Man Sentenced to 12 Years for Sex Trafficking of a Minor

A Fort Smith man was sentenced to 12.5 years in prison for one count of sex trafficking of a minor.

Randall Tyrell Steward, 31, was sentenced to 151 months and five years of supervised release for a sex trafficking charge.

According to court documents, a 17-year-old female reported running away from and home and coming into contact with Steward. The victim reported she worked for Steward as a prostitute in Fayetteville. Steward used the website backpage com to advertise the victim as a prostitute, according to court documents.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation obtained records from the Fayetteville hotel Steward used and backpage com to corroborate the victim's information.

Steward was indicted in October 2015 and pleaded guilty to the charge in December 2015.
