State investigators rescue 2 teens and arrest 2 men for sex trafficking

Two separate investigations conducted by the Louisiana State Police Special Victim's Unit this past week resulted in the recovery of two missing children and the arrest of two men on charges related to child trafficking, according to the LSP.

Andre Johnson Jr., 22, of Baton Rouge and Rodney Lavalais Jr., 30, were arrested by SVU Investigators.

The first investigation began Oct. 24 after a 16-year-old girl was reported missing by the St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Office. Police believed she had been communicating with a man from the Baton Rouge area.
She was recovered the following day from a motel in New Orleans East and placed in protective custody. Johnson was arrested in the same motel room for an unrelated warrant for possession of stolen property and possession of a stolen firearm, the LSP said.
