Man gets 94 months for sex trafficking

A former Waite Park man was sentenced in Stearns County on Thursday to almost 8 years in prison for engaging in sex trafficking with an individual younger than 18.

Alex Trent Hazelrigg, 21, pleaded guilty in September to the felony charge after officers investigating a Waite Park shooting in 2014 found a 16-year-old runaway who told police she was being trafficked by Hazelrigg and another man, according to authorities.

Two other felony charges related to the incident were dismissed Thursday. He was sentenced to 94 months with credit for 273 days served.
