One local group is fighting sex trafficking in the Columbus area with bars of soap.

S.O.A.P. stands for ‘Save Our Adolescents from Prostitution’. Saturday, about a hundred representatives were going to hotels both in and around the Columbus area with bars of soap. Attached to the wrappings were messages that read:

“Are you being forced to do anything you do not want to do? Have you been threatened if you try to leave? Have you witnessed young girls being prostituted? If so, please call: 1-888-3737-888 – National Human Trafficking Hotline”

S.O.A.P. spokeswoman, Theresa Flores says nationwide there are more than 100,000 children being trafficked and there are more than one million missing and runaway youth. She also says human trafficking is the second leading crime in the world.
