KNOXVILLE (WATE) – A Gangster Disciple gang member was convicted of human trafficking, according to the Knox County District Attorney’s Office

Roger Ernest McClain Jr., 26, will serve 10 years for trafficking for commercial sex. McClain was also placed on the Tennessee Sex Offendor Registry.

McClain was arrested after a report of a robbery at the Lovell Road Budget Inn on September 19, 2015, according to the Knox County District Attorney’s Office. The victim of the robbery told Knoxville Police Department officers she had been “pimped out” by McClain for the past year.

Knoxville police investigators determined McClain used the website backpage.com to post ads for people who wanted to have sex with the victim. He collected money in exchange for the encounters and physically assaulted the victim if she did not comply, injecting her with heroin. The victim reported that it was not unusual for her to engage in intercourse with individuals patronizing prostitution up to twenty-five times a day.
