TAT created the Harriet Tubman award to honor a member of the trucking industry whose direct actions help save or improve the lives of those enslaved or prevent human trafficking from happening.
Today TAT was humbled and honored to present the 2015 Harriet Tubman award along with a $2500 check to Con-Way Truckload driver Kevin Kimmel for making the call that led to the recovery of a young woman being trafficked out of an RV at a truck stop in Virginia in January of this year.
What a humble and gracious man Mr. Kimmel is. It was a pleasure and a joy to meet and thank him in person!
Kevin was also awarded the TCA's Highway Angel recognition. Well deserved!
