A message from TAT Executive Director Kendis Paris to the members of the trucking industry:

Dear Trucking Industry Members,
I'm a fan. When my mom, Lyn Thompson, started Truckers Against Trafficking back in 2009, she didn't know a soul in the business … she just knew that the trucking industry could make a significant impact in recovering the lives of women and children who had been forced into prostitution along our nation's highways and you have proven her right. Even before becoming executive director in 2011, I had the great pleasure of meeting and working with many of you who care so very deeply about the issue of human trafficking, and who bend over backwards to put your resources, time and efforts to work in unifying this nationwide movement. And in the process, you've shared your stories of why this issue moves you to action. You're dads and moms, aunts and uncles, godparents and grandparents, and many of you are faith-filled people following deeply held convictions. But I've also come to realize what you already do on a daily basis. You move America. Before Truckers Against Trafficking, I took for granted things like stocked shelves, and fully supplied hospitals, delivery of emergency aid, and the million other products you all ensure get to where they need to go in a timely manner. And don't even get me started on what I've learned about the regulations, logistics and incredible sacrifice drivers, in particular, make away from their families to make all this possible. So, thank you. Thank you for what you do everyday … and for all you drivers out there, every night. Thank you for moving America forward and then on top of that making a phone call when you see a child or a woman in trouble. Thank you for closing loopholes to traffickers during the course of your everyday jobs, and, in doing so, creating a model for other industries to replicate. And thank you for not looking away where so many others have. You have certainly made a fan out of me. With Gratitude, Kendis Paris - TAT Executive Director
