HOPEWELL TOWNSHIP, Pa. - Federal Bureau of Investigation agents and Hopewell Township arrested two people after an undercover investigation led officials to a missing teenage sex-trafficking victim.
Megan Edwards and Daniel King were arrested at a house on Mill Street in Hopewell Township on Tuesday.
According to court paperwork, the girl was living with Edwards in an upstairs apartment. Hopewell Township Police Chief Brian Uhrmacher told Channel 11 that the FBI contacted them last Thursday about the missing teenager, who agents said was a possible sex-trafficking victim.
Channel 11’s Lori Houy was told an FBI agent found several advertisements about the girl and a phone number on an escort website. Megan Edwards, one of the two arrested, was also seen posing with the girl. The FBI agent spoke with Daniel King on the phone and set up a full-service appointment, according to court paperwork.
According to court paperwork, the girl “…entered the detective's vehicle. Once inside, the victim agreed to perform....sex....for $140.” The girl was then taken into police custody.
Uhrmacher said the girl is in a safe place, but would not specify where.
