Bashor Children's Home announces new program to help sex trafficking victims

GOSHEN — Bashor Children's Home hopes to help young victims of human trafficking learn to reach out rather than lash out with a new residential treatment unit.

Bashor directors began looking at helping trafficking victims sometime after opening the Children's Shelter a year ago, Steve Riikonen, director of development, said as the facility announced the new unit Thursday. The new program, which has already accepted two girls and expects to take in three more next week, can give housing and round-the-clock intensive care to six to eight girls at a time.
