Human trafficking survivor shares her story and advice at Wilmington University


When you think of human trafficking, you might not think of Holly Austin Smith as a likely victim.

However, through a combination of factors she was lured into prostitution in Atlantic City in the early 1990s. It was not until 2009, when she was watching a documentary on human trafficking in India, that she realized that was her story.

Smith was the keynote speaker at Tuesday's second Human Trafficking Awareness Symposium hosted by Wilmington University.
